About Karin:
Throughout my career as a French-Immersion teacher, I was constantly creating new materials for my work, as there were
limited resources which focused on non-francophone elementary students. People often commented on my creativity as a teacher.

After moving to Stratford, I spent almost 14 years in a studio at Factory 163 on King St.,
where several experienced artists inspired me.
I am mainly self-taught with lots of encouragement from artist friends.
However, I took acrylic courses in London, ON with Cheryl O, a course at the Haliburton School of Art
with John Anderson - Oil Painting En Plein Air, and courses at Gallery Stratford in watercolours and sketching.

Since Covid severely limited my showing opportunities, I worked on this website, showcasing my art over a number of years
and I continued following my passion, by painting extensively through 2020 into 2025.
KonstArt Studio has currently moved to a new location in 2023:
The Balcony Studio in The Upper Church Hall at St. James Anglican Church in Stratford.
I have continued to maintain an online presence at konstart-kejmstudios.com.

As for showing my art, I displayed paintings: The Beholder's Eye at the Stratford Public Library from 2023 to 2025.

I initiated and hosted the In The Beholder's Eye Project at St. James Anglican Church in Stratford to showcase
the artistic efforts of parishioners, (as well as my own art) in the winter and spring of 2023, 2024 and now 2025.

As a trial balloon to see if there is interest from the local artistic community, I hosted Music and Art Sales at St. James on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 4 p. m. There were 3 musical performances from the Stratford District High School Jazz Combo, Helen Harrison a singer-songwriter and the jazz duo Velvet and Ivory, Beverley Maranger and Tim Elliott. Twelve artists had their work for sale, in aide of raising money towards extensive repairs on the brickwork of the St. James Bell Tower.
Plans are now in place for future fundraising: October 18, 2025, March 28, 2026 and October 17, 2026.

My interest in creativity has also led to my taking Artistic Welding courses at Off The Wall
with instructor Frank Holte in 2021 and 2022, as well as my writing and illustrating a children's book in 2021 at home.
I am also experimenting with woodburning and with sculpting wood.
